I have grown to really love this cool, interesting space that I'm using as a studio. I'm using one of the converted tanning bed rooms inside the salon as a darkroom. We're finishing up with the light proofing in the darkroom and will be testing today with exposures using our new Super Cool 9 lights. I'm so very excited and will post our findings ASAP.
Here is a look at the logo I designed for the project--I used it as a basis for my sign design and on a flyer I created for the project.
They will be more secure tomorrow, but for now, we just needed to see if it could be leveled out and if the sink works.
We snaked the hose up through the drain and it works great! Darkroom sinks? Nah...I'll take a free fish scaling/deer processing sink anytime!
On to testing exposures today--Doug has agreed to be my guinea pig...I'll post the results soon! Since I don't have access to a scanner here in Selma or Pleasant Hill, I'm still figuring out how to make reproductions of the plates. If anyone out there with collodion experience has ideas on how to document the plates other than scanning, please let me know!
